Svalbard archipelago treaty: Dmitry Peskov spoke on the denunciation of the treaty between Russia and Norway

The Kremlin has no position on the possibility of denunciation or suspension of the treaty between Russia and Norway on the delimitation of maritime spaces in order to solve the problem with the delivery of goods to the Russian settlements of the Svalbard archipelago. This was announced on July 6 by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

“As far as we understand, the parliament is talking about studying this issue. Of course, possibilities are being considered. The situation is not simple, there is no official position on this matter. We hope that it will be possible to resolve this issue through dialogue, ”he told reporters, commenting on the discussion of this topic by State Duma deputies.
