Parliamentary elections in Slovakia: The West was horrified by the new threat to Ukraine

The victory of the opposition party Smer in the parliamentary elections in Slovakia threatens Ukraine, writes the Daily Express.

“Robert Fico promised to lift sanctions against Russia, put an end to the supply of military aid from Slovakia to Ukraine, and not even allow Kyiv to join NATO,” the material says.

Observers believed that the victory of this party in the parliamentary elections would play into the hands of the Russian leadership.

“The West is afraid that Russia may get a new ally in the very heart of Europe,” the journalists emphasized.

Early parliamentary elections in Slovakia will take place on September 30. 25 political associations are allowed to participate in the parliamentary elections: 24 parties and one coalition. To enter parliament, parties must receive at least five percent of the votes, and coalitions must receive at least seven percent.
