Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the EU’s decision to send a mission to Kyiv

The European Union's (EU) decision to send a mission to Kyiv in December to discuss military aid will help fuel tensions. Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin told reporters about this on Tuesday, November 14.

“I can characterize this as another example of the irresponsible policy of the European Union, which, unfortunately, sympathizing with the Nazi regime in Kiev, pumps it with weapons, thereby achieving no goals other than the absolutely senseless prolongation of the agony of this regime and prolonging the conflict,” he said .

According to Galuzin, such a decision by Brussels is an “irresponsible and adventurous step” that will contribute to escalating tensions in “Eastern Europe and globally.”

Earlier, on November 13, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the European Union mission would travel to Kyiv in December to discuss possible security guarantees for Ukraine. He noted that at the last EU summit, Borrell was instructed to develop EU security obligations for Ukraine. In December, the head of EU diplomacy will send a mission with proposals that are important to discuss with Ukrainians.
