Argentina has asked NATO to become a global partner of the alliance

This was announced by the country's Minister of Defense Louis Petri after a meeting with the Deputy Secretary General of NATO in Brussels.

Today, Colombia remains the only Latin American country with NATO global partner status. In this capacity, she joined the alliance in 2018.

NATO's other global partners include Afghanistan, Australia, Iraq, South Korea, Mongolia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Japan.
