Georgian Parliament overcame the President's veto on the law on foreign agents

The Georgian Parliament by a majority vote overcame the veto of the country's President Salome Zurabishvili on the law on foreign agents. The Mtavari television company reported this on May 28.

After this, the initial version of the bill was put to a vote, which was supported by 84 deputies, four were against.

The plenary session to override the presidential veto began earlier in the day, after the legal committee of the Georgian parliament voted in favor of it the day before. Protesters gathered outside the legislature again as they awaited a decision.

    За это проголосовали 84 депутата, требовалось не менее 76. Депутат от оппозиционной партии «Единое национальное движение» Анна Цитлидзе заявила, что из-за этого закона Грузии закроют путь в Евросоюз и могут отказать в безвизовом сообщении с Европой.
