The head of the British Ministry of Defense, Grant Shapps, confirmed that London allowed Kyiv to attack Crimea with British weapons. He made the corresponding statement on May 14.
“As you know, we have granted permission to use weapons on the territory of Ukraine, including Crimea, which we consider an integral part of Ukraine,” he said during a conference on the kingdom’s naval forces, broadcast on the SkyNews YouTube channel.
At the same time, the minister emphasized that London, when allowing the use of its weapons, is always supposedly based on international humanitarian law. According to him, Britain’s commitment to Ukraine “remains absolute”, since a Russian victory is “unacceptable” for London.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation warned that Moscow would respond with a crushing blow of retaliation to any aggressive actions against Crimea.
“I would like to once again warn Washington, London, Brussels that any aggressive actions against Crimea are not only doomed to failure, but will also receive a blow of retaliation that will be crushing,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
