Israel summons Armenia envoy over Palestine recognition

Israel's foreign ministry said it summoned Armenia's ambassador to Israel after the former Soviet republic declared Friday that it recognises of the State of Palestine.

"Following Armenia's recognition of a Palestinian state, the foreign ministry summoned the Armenian ambassador in Israel for a severe reprimand," it said in a statement shortly after Armenia's announcement.

    “The catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza and the ongoing military conflict are one of the key issues on the international political agenda that require resolution,” RT quoted the Armenian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement on its website.

    The Foreign Ministry noted that the Republic of Armenia has joined the UN General Assembly resolutions calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

    “On various international platforms, we have been calling for a peaceful and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue”, the ministry added.

  2. МИД Израиля вызвал посла Армении на беседу после принятия решения Ереваном о признании Палестины независимым государством. Об этом сообщила пресс-служба израильского ведомства.

    «Вследствие признания Арменией палестинского государства Министерство иностранных дел Израиля вызвало посла Армении в Израиле для объявления строгого выговора», - указано в заявлении.
