Plane with Julian Assange on board takes off for Australia

The plane with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on board took off for Australia, the Australian television channel ABC showed the takeoff.

Earlier, the Northern Mariana Islands court declared Assange a free man, giving him credit for the time he had already served.

Footage broadcast on ABC's YouTube channel shows a small gray plane taking to the skies. Assange is expected to arrive in the Australian capital, Canberra, this evening.
