Spiegel: Two German warships will sail through the Taiwan Strait in September

In mid-September, the German Navy frigate "Baden-Württemberg" and the combat support ship "Frankfurt-am-Main" will pass through the Taiwan Strait.

 According to the publication Spiegel with reference to its sources, such a passage threatens to lead to a diplomatic conflict with the People's Republic of China.

 They follow ships through the strait around South Korea in Jakarta. At the same time, the FRG, according to media sources, is not going to inform China about their passage. 

From the point of view of the German authorities, it should be emphasized that we are talking about a normal situation.

 "The government of the Federal Republic of Germany is calm about the possible protest on the part of Beijing", - the journal material says.

German ships took part in international exercises in the Indo-Pacific region. In particular, to ensure an embargo on the deployment of weapons in North Korea.
