The Kremlin assures that “forcing Russia to make peace” would be a “fatal error”

The Kremlin said Wednesday that forcing Russia to make peace in Ukraine, as Zelensky called at the UN the day before, would be an "absolutely fatal mistake."

“The position of trying to force Russia to make peace is an absolutely fatal mistake. It is impossible to force Russia to make peace,” said the spokesperson for the Russian presidency, Dmitri Peskov, during a press point.

“Russia is in favor of peace,” he said, “but on condition of ensuring the foundations of its security and achieving the objectives” of the offensive in Ukraine.

“Without achieving these objectives, it is impossible to constrain Russia,” he warned.

On Tuesday, Volodymyr Zelensky urged the UN Security Council to "force Russia into peace" after more than two and a half years of conflict

  1. The position of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on "forcing Russia to peace" is a fatal mistake, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday, adding that this will inevitably have consequences for Kiev.
Zelensky previously said that the "victory plan" for Ukraine had already been fully prepared. In August, Zelensky stated that the plan also contained a powerful package of coercion for Russia to end the war through diplomatic means.
Commenting on Zelensky's words, Peskov noted that Moscow was aware of the essence of the Kiev regime, continued the special military operation and would achieve all its goals.
