US president-elect Donald Trump's disrespectful remarks on the passing away of Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro are to remain on Trump's conscience, Russian Foreign Ministry’s director of the Department of Latin America Alexander Schetinin said on Sunday.
On Saturday, Trump called Castro "a dictator" and promised to help the well-being of Cuba.
"As for the various manifestations and desires to backbite and speak in a disrespectful manner in respect to a deceased person, a politician, I leave it to the conscience of those who do so," Schetinin told RIA Novosti.
According to Schetinin, Castro was a "great politician of our time… And he is absolutely worthy of everyone's respect."
