In India, about 50 people were killed when a passenger and freight train collided near the city of Balasore. This is reported by the Hindustan Times.
It is noted that the accident occurred around 19:20 local time. The passenger train was moving from Calcutta to Chennai. Four wagons derailed.
Currently, about 500 police officers and rescuers are working at the scene of the emergency. Dozens of medical teams are helping the victims.
The death toll from a collision between an passenger and a freight train in India's eastern State of Odisha rises to 70 people and another 350 received injuries, the India Today news agency reported on Friday.
